epitaph

Grandparents, Reunited.

She had bright
Red papier mâché,
He, a thick oak.

Between funerals,
The years, brittle,
Wan, now mingled
With the best ones –

Dusty joy,
Shared; striding, touching,
Swimming through the wind.
